Ozeri BP5K Digital Blood Pressure Monitor

This digital blood pressure monitor by Ozeri is very portable and useful for those monitoring their health.  I’m impressed at the compact size of this monitor and the clean all-in-one design with no additional components, cables, and tubing.

There are many additional features like a memory with date and time stamps and a voice guide. Be sure to go through the included manual to understand all the features and different options you can turn on or off. Reading the manual is a must to get the most out of this blood pressure monitor. The readings were accurate and in line with my other blood pressure monitor. They were consistently in the same range and show that this unit is dependable if used correctly. The voice guide is a great feature for those needing a bit of help to get correctly positioned and the audible results after the test is helpful in alerting you of your range and any possible problems.

The build quality of this monitor is sturdy and durable. The plastic seems thick and good quality and the wrist cuff material is comfortable. The screen is very large with easy to read numbers and a backlight that makes usage in dark places possible. The unit takes two AAA batteries which are included in the box. The carrying case is really useful when taking the monitor with you on the go, it keeps it protected from drops and general handling. This monitor also carries a 5 year warranty and I would recommend it to others.

The only issue I had is the slightly raised buttons located on the face of the blood pressure monitor. Because they’re raised, the “On” button can accidentally get pressed inside the box.

Ozeri Deluxe Frother with Stand and Attachments

This milk frother by Ozeri is easy to use, and the powerful motor gives you quick results. I’ve used another model milk frother in the past and the motor was noticeably weaker than this Ozeri model, and as a result it took much longer to get decent results. This Ozeri model has a powerful motor that quickly froths the milk to a consistency that’s great for latte or cappuccino type drinks. Very little effort or time is required and the results are great, the froth and foam produced can be quite thick and long lasting depending on the type of milk you use. If you want warm or hot milk for your hot drink I would recommend microwaving or heating up some milk in a saucepan beforehand.

The included additional whisk and mixing attachments are great bonuses that add versatility to this frother. The whisk works great for beating eggs, making sauces or blending up powder drinks like protein shakes. The mixing attachment works well for mixing cocktails and specialty drinks. The wire stand is useful if you use the frother regularly and want it easily accessible, it looks great while being stored as well.

The casing for the frother appears to be quite durable and the attachments are made from stainless steel. The frother uses two AA batteries and a pair is included in the box. I tried my usual rechargeable NiMH batteries as well and they work fine. This frother really looks good being displayed in your kitchen and it does a great job at frothing, I would definitely recommend it to those in the market for one.

DALSTRONG Steak Knives

This is a very nice set of Steak Knives made from high quality German steel. I received these knives at a discount for testing and an honest review. I’ve used these knives to cut steak and other types of meats and the results have been very good. The knives are very sharp and cut through meat with little effort required, the cuts are clean with no visible tearing. These knives seem like they would belong in high end steakhouses and definitely fit in well in the homes of meat lovers. This set will definitely be replacing my old set of steak knives, it is an upgrade in every way. The size of these steak knives is just right, and will work well with larger cuts like a thick T-bone or even a cowboy steak.
 

The knives are very attractive with a full tang construction and satin-like finish on the metal. The triple riveted Pakkawood handles make the knives comfortable to hold in your hands and don’t have any rough or sharp edges that dig into your hand. Everything is well rounded and well finished, I did not see any blemishes or problems on these knives. The knives have a good bit of heft thanks to the high quality, high carbon German steel used in it’s construction. They have been very durable and have held it’s cutting edge well so far. The serrated design ensures that the knives retain their sharpness and don’t dull from contact with plates and other cutting surfaces. I have no doubt these knives will last and work well for many years to come. These also come with a lifetime warranty to protect you from defects.

The packaging and box the knives come in also help to give this set a very premium feel. The box is sturdy and attractive and there are cutouts for each knife. Also included is a polishing cloth for the knives after cleaning, a key chain with the Dalstrong logo, and booklet with information. This would be a great set of knives to give away as a Christmas or home warming gift. They are really high quality and are impressive to look at and use, I would recommend these to those in need of a better set of steak knives or are just shopping for gifts.

Ozeri Touch 440 lb. Bath Scale

The Ozeri Touch Bath Scale is a very nice and modern looking scale that looks good in your home with additional features that many would find helpful. I received this scale for testing and an honest review.

I’ve tried a friend’s scale that also measures body fat, hydration, muscle, and bone mass, and I was very impressed by the additional features. It can be such a handy tool to gauge your progress and improvements of body condition during weight loss. I compared the readings from this Ozeri Touch scale with the ones from my friend’s well reviewed scale and the results were nearly identical, it seems they use a similar algorithm and are similarly reliable. For myself, the measurements have been consistent with no wild fluctuations or anomalies.

The scale automatically turns on when you step onto it and after taking your weight the scale proceeds to calculate your body fat, hydration, muscle, and bone mass. This only takes a few seconds and the results are automatically cycled through while giving you enough time to record the results if you wish. There is also a useful tare feature if you are trying to weigh an infant or something else in addition to yourself. I feel that with all these features the price of the scale is very reasonable and affordable.

The included instruction booklet does a good job at teaching you the basics of setting up and using the scale. It is easy and intuitive to set up the profiles for each user and you can store up to 8 users in the memory. There is a button on the back of the scale to change the units of measuring from lbs, kg, and stones. The scale turns off automatically after some time of inactivity.

The scale takes two CR2032 batteries which are included, these batteries are common and cheap to replace. The surface of the scale is made from thick, high quality tempered glass and it feels very well made with some heft to it. There are no loose or poorly fitting parts, it feels solid with no squeaks or noise during use. The glass is easy to clean and maintain with a damp cloth and maybe a little cleaning solution.

I have been trying to lose weight in recent months and this scale in addition to healthier eating and increased exercise is a great tool to aid in that quest. Keep records and track your long term progress to keep yourself motivated! I would recommend this scale to others also in pursuit of weight loss and a healthier self.

Reviewsio, an Upcoming Review Site

So there’s a relatively new review site that I am now just opening my eyes to. It’s called Reviewsio and so far, the deals seem to be good. The review site is based off a point system and most of the products listed on purchased via Amazon.

That being said, the site seems promising, granted that when you request a deal, it’s not guaranteed that you’re picked to purchase and review the product. It seems to be the preference of the seller to reject or accept a request, which  makes sense.

However, what separates this site from other is the points you are able to accumulate doing various activities, such as commenting, logging in, referring friends, etc. You can then save enough points to purchase additional rewards! It’s a win-win! So far, there seems to be two items available, two Amazon gift cards with a huge point cost. Although I’m a long ways away from actually being able to redeem either reward, at least I have something to look forward to! Hopefully more users will join Reviewsio so they are able to grow and then add more reward opportunities!
