Wanderings Leather Notebook Journal

I enjoy collecting vintage and rustic looking items. This full grain leather bound journal by Wanderings is a nice addition to my collection of interesting real leather items. The journal is quite narrow, measuring 8.5”L x 4.25” W in dimensions and is quite thin. It contains 3 separate notebooks inside with 30 pages each (total of 90 pgs.). The pages themselves are made of good quality thick paper so if you’re using an ink or fountain pen, the ink won’t seep through onto the backside or opposite page.

The leather is a nice deep brown, the interior being unfinished while the exterior is nicely finished full grain leather. I did notice a lot of scratches on the leather upon receiving it, but I think with a little leather oil this can be somewhat remedied. The addition of the elastic band and the leather closure just gives it an additional charm while conveniently keeping your journal closed and safe. I often like to slip pieces of smaller notes and paper in my notebooks so this elastic band is a useful feature for me. You can also slip a pen between the band for convenience’s sake.

This journal makes a nice keepsake or an awesomely fashionable yet convenient notebook to jot down notes and things you want to write down on the fly. I’m a writer, lyricist, and artist, and sometimes inspiration and ideas just come when you least expect it. Since inspiration is fleeting, you can just quickly whip this journal out of your back pocket or purse and jot down your material before your forget it!

This leather bound notebook is actually similar to the more well known Midori Traveler’s Notebook and is the exact same size. You can always just purchase the Midori paper refills when your pages are filled. There are many kinds of refills for your preference such as blank (like this one), lined, graph paper, planner paper, etc.

Ultimately I’ve found this Leather Notebook Journal to be comparable in quality to the Midori Traveler’s Notebook but for a more reasonable price. It would also make a great gift to the close artists, writers, musicians, poets, etc., in your life who still appreciate the art of writing things down by hand. I look forward to more vintage traveler’s items from Wanderings. I received this leather journal notebook for testing and use and this is my honest and unbiased review.

Astronomy with a Home Telescope: The Top 50 Celestial Bodies to Discover in the Night Sky by Seth Penricke

Good book aimed at beginners of astronomy but needs a bit more information and guides
This guidebook is helpful for those just getting into astronomy with a telescope. The book has a list of 50 top celestial bodies and objects to view with a telescope and the information it includes does a good job of introducing those objects. With details of visibility, descriptions, directions to find them, significance, origin, and some pop trivia, it’s a concise and not too wordy summary to get one interested without being overwhelmed. If your interest is piqued for more in-depth information and knowledge, you can always do additional research on your own at your local library or online.

While being aimed at those new to the world of astronomy and telescope viewing, this book falls short in the area of directions and guiding readers in finding the celestial objects. The book uses constellations as the point of reference in it’s directions. A chapter introducing all the constellations referenced in the directions with additional pictures and diagrams of the constellations would be extremely beneficial to the reader. Coordinates and more detailed directions would be helpful as well in assisting or training the new astronomer.

The book includes some stunning color pictures and I feel it would definitely benefit from more pictures of the celestial bodies being included in correspondence with the related chapter. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good introductory book and it gets a solid 4 stars from me, but with additional diagrams, pictures, and with more fleshed out instructions I would give this book 5 stars(Sol, Betelgeuse, Rigel, Sirius, Arcturus).

Great Resource About ADHD– Straightforward and Easy to Understand
This is a really informative and straightforward book that addresses the truths of ADHD and ADD. After reading through the book, I’ve learned a lot about the condition ADHD that I didn’t know before. I seriously feel that Dr. Blythe Grossberg really knows what she’s talking about from experience.
I know several people who have ADHD, but never really knew the specifics of what they go through. This book is extremely useful for any adult who deals with children and teenagers with ADHD, either as a parent, a teacher, or a child caretaker of any kind.

The book debunks the common myths and misconceptions of ADHD, explains in a straightforward manner how to deal with children with this condition and help them thrive and become successful, as well as provide some insight into the symptoms and characteristics of people with ADHD. It must be reminded that people with ADHD may sometimes even have the advantage of success due to their often forward-thinking and creative thinking.

This book has really opened up my eyes to the truth about ADHD. This book includes useful strategies on how to help manage the symptoms of ADHD, meticulously going through all phases of human development from childhood to adulthood. Communication and understanding the condition are keys to helping caretakers and parents work with children with ADHD.

I highly recommend this book to teachers, caretakers, parents, and anyone who may have to deal with children with ADHD. A great resource that is simple to read and understand.
